The next winner

Here is the list of previous Championship Trophy winners:

1998: South Africa
2000: New Zealand (yeah!)
2002: India/Sri Lanka
2004: West Indies
2006: Australia

A new winner every year.

There are two notable omissions in the above list, the two major teams that have not won: England and Pakistan.

As my expectations for New Zealand are low, I’m hoping we see yet another winner added to the list and I’m backing Pakistan.

    I doubt it will be Pakistan, I think it is between SL and India

    Ben, I do hope that NZ will pull off an upset over SA. It is painful to see the present wimpyness of my second most liked team.
    And Damith, India without Sehwag, Zaheer, Yuvraj et.al. will be hard pressed to make the semis from the group of death. Pak and those Ozzies stand a better chance.
    Despite their thrashing the Saffers, SL’s past record in SA makes me sceptical of their chances of winning though they will certainly make the semis.
