Champions Trophy finals
The biggest day since we settled on a black uniform and I’m away from my computer and can’t blog. I’m still on the road, so I’ll just quickly post my impressions.
Semi v. Pakistan
Fantastic!! Such an assured performance, no one could doubt we belonged in the final.
Final v. Australia
Hesitant, confused, uncertain – we just didn’t look like we belonged in the final. Is it too much of a cliché to suggest that we couldn’t rise to the occasion is because of our lack of experience in finals?
Majorally stoked that we made the finals. Awesome. Bummed we didn’t win the tournament, but it’s only the Champions Trophy after all.

I agree with your analysis. But hey if somebody had told us we would make it to the final before the start of the tournement you would have had them locked up!

Awesome performance in the semis, but we missed Vettori’s cool head in the finals. With both McCullum and Taylor failing, and elliott getting a good delivery from Lee, we didn’t have anyone who could take the game away from the Aussies. Imagine how much more Mills & Bond’s opening spell would’ve been worth with 30-40 more runs to play with?

We reched, and exceeded, our level of compitence.
Most pleasing aspect of the final for me was that we didn’t drop our heads at half-time; even though it was over by then.

The Champions Trophy was a great tournement, two action packed weeks.No super 8s nonsense ans no pointless games against the minows!
What pity the format is being changed!
