Cheer up Crucket, it’s not as bad as all that

I feel I was far too pessimistic in my last post so I’m going to look on the bright side as the kick off for the 2nd test approaches.

Losing Shane Bond was a big blow, no doubt, but the bowling attack that we’ll take into the Basin test, Martin, O’Brien, Tuffey and Vettori most likely,  is still strong. The strongest in the country excepting Bond. There shouldn’t be much doubt they can take 20 wickets, particularly at the Basin. So if they get 700 runs or so out of the batsmen across the match, we’ll be in with a good chance.

The loss of Shane Bond is a big blow but Newzealand is used to playing with scarce resources, his replacement Tuffey is not bad at all he has a very good record against Pakistan.

Pakistan has never lost a test at Wellington, lets hope that the rain doesn’t affect the match and we do get a result.

Who says NZ is missing Bond? The way they are playing is fantastic. Again, the giants Pakistani lineup have faltered to a nice bowling attack. Let’s hope Bond recovers fast and gets into the action as soon as possible.

NZ will only need to score 601 runs in the second innings to get those 700 runs across the match. On the bright side, it’s unlikley that pakistan will set a target in excess of 500. Taylor and Vettori will probably need to score 450 of those runs between them.
This is the roller coaster that is NZ cricket. Hold on tight.
